It was actually, Resty's Birthday celebration (06/05/10). One of the very very memorable experienced. Just before we rode a bus going to Baguio, nagpagpag kami ng malas (literally we did) haha! As i remembered, napaka risky ng trip na to. But we had so much fun... so so so soooooo fun! :-)
Our plan: Manila-Baguio-Sagada
As usual, we didn't make a proper itinerary. haha. lagi nmn.
"Bahala na si Batman" - ika nga namin lahat.
1st stop: Baguio (5-6hrs of travel away from Manila)
Then we had lunch in our fave spot "50's Diner"
I ordered "guy on the hood" a.k.a construction worker meal for only P120.00
After lunch, we went to the terminal in baguio going to sagada. (excitement is in the air)
Sad to say, naiwanan kami ng bus. Boom!
dahil wala naman kaming plan B. we asked for help na sa mga taga ron and they advised us to take a bus going to bontoc instead. Then we need to ride another mini bus directly to Sagada.
super mega haba ng byahe! Pak!
Another unexpected dillema, may landslide going to bontoc proper, yes po may "LANDSLIDE". Whew!
and so the bus need to unload passengers. no choice e kesa naman mahulog sa bangin.
At around 11pm, nag-emergency check in kami sa Ridgebrook Hotel.
(we look so worried because of landslide and for our super tight tour schedule...yes, worried na talaga kami nyan)
Early in the morning, check out sa hotel then tanong tanong kung pano kami makakarating sa sagada.
Manong driver: "sakay kayo ng Bontoc jeep, hatid ko kayo dun. Tapos nun mas maganda kung sa taas kayo ng jeep sasakay..ang mga foreigner dun nila gusto, subukan nyo rin, medyo delikado lang"
hahahah! and we followed his advised. haha! Buwis buhay talaga.
We are all in the roof. Ganda ng view, paradise! un nga lang, kaba kaba kaba!
Prayer is our greatest armor. Thank God for guiding us.
Sagada market.
Walk-in! Agenda: Find a lodge with fire place (Ting's ultimate request)
Lemon Pie House
Pagdating sa Sagada, walang inaksayang oras. we bought a map. and find the attractions.
Hanging Coffins
Lumiang Cave: Starting point in cave connection
4hrs spelunking in Sagada' Cave connection
Sumaguing Cave.
Ting's cake. Happy Birthday! Yey!
Trek to Bumod-ok falls. I personally called it "The Hell Trek"
I hate trekking, ako ng weakest link.. haha. paka hirap nyan.. hahaha! but you must do it for you to see the beauty of sagada.
You must try Sagada's Pinikpikan Chicken |
On our way home: Tarlac stop over.
Tips:
- waterproofing - to keep things dry (Ziplock, plastic bag, etc.)
- clothing that can get wet
- headlamp - while the guide brings along a Petromax (lantern), it's best to provide for your own lighting, specially if you're in a big group
- Tribu-type sandals - for traction, you'll be barefoot a great deal
- backpack - to put your footwear and clothing, but avoid stuffing your backpack. It's hard to get through narrow passages with a bulky pack.
- small towel if you plan to take a dip in the water
What to wear/bring:
- Rates:
- visitor registration: P10/person
- P400.00 each cave connection (4hrs) including the 2 guides for cave connection. Maximum of 3 persons are allowed per guide. The fourth person will have to get an additional guide.
- pinikpikan chicken - this is not a standard rate, but it usually starts at P700 and good for 8-10 people or P70.00 isang order w/out rice.
- yogurt - P90.00 - P120.00
- Pie- i forgot. pero mura lang yan.. saka sarap tumambay s place nila. Take note, may wifi sa Lemon Pie House :-)
